Women Of The Allanson Clan ( WOTAC)
Women of the Allanson Clan, or WOTAC as they are known, are a group of women descended from John Allanson and Hannah Eaton. Here in Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA the Allanson clan is well known as some of the earliest settlers in the Merewether/Juction/Glebe area of Newcastle, and WOTAC was formed, with the thought of 'keeping the spirit alive' and keeping contact established between the females of the line. WOTAC was founded in 2000 by Lisa Ballico, great grand -daughter to John and Hannah and now meets regularly every three months for dinner, a conversation and a laugh. The evening usually has a theme to dress to ( Oscar night was good !) with each woman bringing a gift to share When WOTAC was first formed, it was decided that female children in the family needed to attain the age of 15 years before being able to participate in this wonderful, now established tradition. I am proud to say that WOTAC now has three generations of Allanson women sitting at the table, and the nights we share are priceless on many levels. We are making and preserving memories, and allowing the generations to mix and mingle, rather than to grow apart. Current WOTAC members are Doreen Mcmillan ( nee ALLANSON) the family matriach
