As a Reiki Master and Spiritual Healer I am often asked by the doubting minority, 'well ok then, how many people have you cured?' To which I reply with honesty, 'none'
If I was to be asked the same question with the word 'healed' in place of 'cured', my answer with honesty, would be 'hundreds'.
and hundreds i have.........
Maybe not healed completely, but certainly assisted in the healing process, which to me , is infinatly more important.
I am a healer, meaning that by working with people, I can assist them to find the path to self healing that we all need to find at sometime in our life. I cannot cure people and I profess to feeling almost anger when I hear of others upon this realm who indicate they can.
"CURING" an illness is the domain of the Divine, and by Divine, I mean the Universal Power by which ever name you may see it.
Only the Divine can cure - not doctors, medications, reiki masters or shamans- only the Divine can make the final call about whether or not a life ends; what we as healers can do, is smooth the path to acceptance and understanding , by facilitating a link between the soul and the Divine.
It is generally accepted in the spiritual community at large that over a period of time all spiritual and emotional disharmony has the ability to manifest on the physical level as dis-ease- once it has reached that stage we, as healers, must work within the boundaries that are supplied to us.
We cannot, must not, tell a person we can cure them of disease when in truth, all we can do is give them peace and understanding of the situation and know that they are in the hands of the Divine.
We can assist, and thats it.
This is what true spiritual healing is - 'healing of the spirit'.
For example, a client i had some time ago came to see me for healing.
She was terminally ill with breast cancer and her days were limited. She did not need me to 'cure' her cancer or 'prolong' her life- this women had accepted the fate before her, yet came to me requiring healing.
You see, in years gone by she had completely lost touch with her mother and the regret she carried in her heart regarding this was profound.
She was angry with her mother for reasons that now, at this stage, had lost any importance, if indeed they ever did have any.
She didnt want to die with this pain in her heart, the pain of unforgiveness.
I worked with this women in simple ways utilising crystal healing, reiki and chakra balancing, I gave her the love in my heart and when she left me that day, she was driven straight around to her mothers home where she forgave and released the pain in her heart.
She passed a few days later- with cancer, but at peace.
That is an example of spiritual healing- working with the subtle energies to remove emotional and spiritual blockages.
We cannot cure, it is not our place - but we can heal and assist with healing on many levels.
To promise anything other is wrong, indeed cruel becasue when all is said and done, we work the Divine, not in place of.
