Eco Friendly Cleaning Products
Some great eco friendly ( and inexpensive) house cleaning ideas. Laundry I use 'sunlight' laundry soap for all my clothes washing. I simply place a bar or two into a mesh bag ( like the ones you use for delicates) and throw the bag into the machine with a scoop of bi carb soda.
At the end of the wash cycle before the rinse, remove the mesh bag.
For towels, sheets, linen and underware, i then add a cup of white vinigar for the final rinse. SUNLIGHT ( the soap and the real thing) are the best whitners and brighteners you could ask for. As an alternative to the above, grate 4 to 6 bars of sunlight soap ( its amazingly easy to grate- takes no time at all) and combine with 500gms of bi-carb- place in a sealed container and use as per normal washing concentrate powder. Dont expect lots of suds with either of the above; they are low suddsing recipes. Furniture Polish/Spray Into 500mls of spring water place 10-15 drops of PATCHOLI essential oil and shake well. Place into a spray bottle and use on all furniture, windows, mirrors etc. Bathroom/Kitchen/Laundry Cleaners I use the same one for all the 'wet' areas. Into a 500ml spray bottle pour white vinigar and spring water in equal amounts, leaving enough room to add 3-4 caps full of eucalyptus oil.
Seal bottle and always SHAKE WELL before using. Another of my favourites is a cream cleanser for tough jobs- 250grams of bi carb with about 4 caps full of Eucalyptus oil. Blend well and add enough water to give the mix a paste like consistancy. Will keep well in a sealed container and may need extra water before use. Lisa |
